New download mirror: Synex images available at repo.synex.ar
The Synex ISO images are now also available from the project’s own infrastructure, at repo.synex.ar/iso/. The new mirror publishes the latest version of each branch along with its checksums. SourceForge remains the primary mirror and keeps the version history of the stable branch.
Synex Semi-rolling 26.08.17: COSMIC 1.5.0, Btrfs snapshot management and MBR boot fix
The new Synex Semi-rolling images update the COSMIC edition to version 1.5.0 and incorporate synex-snapshots, a graphical tool for snapshot management on Btrfs systems. The installer also fixes installation on machines with BIOS/MBR boot. The images are available in the KDE Plasma, GNOME, XFCE and COSMIC editions.
Synex Server 13 R7: multi-VDEV configurations for RAIDZ, data preservation in ServerHub and new modules
Synex Server 13 R7 incorporates support for multi-VDEV configurations in RAIDZ topologies, with assisted layout selection and automatic calculation of usable capacity. In ServerHub, it introduces a unified data preservation criterion for module uninstallation and reinstallation, and expands the catalog with five additions. synex-control unifies its navigation model across all modules.

Synex 13 u11 is an update that incorporates package reinstallation support in Synex Package Manager, updates the COSMIC edition to version 1.3.0, and brings the system base up to date with the latest Debian Trixie updates.
Synex Semi-rolling: new images with COSMIC 1.3.0 and updated base
The new Synex Semi-rolling images update the system base with the latest versions of the kernel, desktop environments, and main components. The most notable change is the update of the COSMIC edition to version 1.3.0, the latest released by System76.
Synex 13 u10: recommended apps in Synex Package Manager and consolidated editions
Synex 13 u10 incorporates a new recommended applications section in Synex Package Manager, with one-click installation that automatically resolves external repositories and Flatpak support. This version also updates the system base, consolidates the COSMIC and Openbox editions incorporated during the u9 cycle, and adds a refinement in the Calamares installer for ZFS component management.
Adjustments for COSMIC users on Synex
With the COSMIC update to version 1.1.0 on Synex, there are two specific adjustments worth applying once on systems installed from earlier images. They apply to both the stable and semi-rolling branches.
Synex Semi-rolling now has its own APT repository
The Synex Semi-rolling branch now has its own dedicated suite in the official repository, separate from the stable branch. From now on, semi-rolling’s own packages —including COSMIC 1.1.0— are published and updated through this suite.
Synex Semi-rolling adds COSMIC 1.1.0, System76’s next-generation desktop
Synex brings COSMIC to its Semi-rolling branch with version 1.1.0, the latest release of the Rust-based desktop developed by System76. The edition is built on Debian testing and comes with a public repository containing the entire packaging work, reaffirming Synex’s commitment to transparency and reproducible work.
